Read "The Setting Of Caesarea Philippi For Peter's Second Declaration"

The contents of Matthew 16 play a very important role in the life and ministry of Jesus. Matthew 16 records the first time Jesus taught openly about his impending suffering, death, and resurrection. It's the first time he discusses the church, openly anyways. It's the first time he discusses his glory, which a few of the disciples will be granted the privilege of seeing––an event they will never forget (Peter writes about, as does John [twice]). Matthew 16 also holds one of the most important confessions in Scripture, when Peter called Jesus "the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matt. 16:16). In my post over at the AtA blog, I discuss the setting where this declaration takes place. The title is "The Setting Of Caesarea Philippi For Peter's Second Declaration." You can read it here.
