The Messenger And The Message

Believers should be so winsome that if an unbeliever did reject something it would be the message and not the messenger. Unfortunately today, we see many people rejecting the messengers and not necessarily the message. That's extremely sad. The gospel message is as winsome as is God himself. In fact, I would say that there is nothing more winsome–written or spoken, in my language or someone else's, in my lifetime or theirs–than the message of the cross.

Paul writes: "The message of the cross is foolishness to those that are perishing, but the power of God to those of us who are being saved" (1 Cor. 1:18). Let's make sure we don't take away from the winsomeness of the gospel message by living silly, self-seeking, and sinful lives. But let us strive to be winsome for the sake of that message.
